For NMV members
Photo:Ganesha statue at the NMBThe National Museum Volunteers was originally established to train guides for the National Museum Bangkok. Over time, many other activities have been added to the National Museum Volunteers, but guiding remains an important focus of our work.

Each year, the NMV holds a Guiding Workshop to train potential guides for the National Museum Bangkok.

Additionally, this is a great opportunity for other members of the NMV to discover the amazing treasures contained within the national Museum and to learn so much more about Thai Art, Thai History, religion and cultural aspects; a useful foundation for further study.

The Workshop usually lasts for about two months, with lectures held on Wednesday and Friday mornings.

The lectures cover topics such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Thai history and the evolution of the Buddha image. It provides a knowledge base to support the museum collection.
The lectures are followed by study tours of the museum galleries.

Separate workshops are held in English, Japanese, French and German.
